the third edible release comes from a producer weve admired for many, many years. a consistent and truly dependable master of the jackin groove since the late 1990s, brett johnson has flexed his musical muscle for some of our favourite labels. singles for derrick carters classic, dj sneaks magnetic, freerange and visionquest have been record box staples for eats everything over the years, so its a big fat hello and welcome to brett on the snack attack ep.

our little dirt crew sub label spiel started out in late 2013 with three excellent releases, the first two by clancy featuring remixes by urulu and prins thomas followed by a stellar ep from mercury. after a hiatus spiel is back for 2016.

its one year since we started this adventure and we want to celebrate pressing our first vinyl. for this special event we have onboard one of our best friends and someone we respect massively, no other than oscar mulero. he his providing two futuristic reworks of uncuts track beneath, floor orientated but mental at the same time, with flanged synth sequences and scientific drum programming making two techno tools that will crush sound systems worldwide. aside from the remixes, an own rework of beneath is made by the hd substance & leandro gamez duo as well as a brand new original track called f9, arpegio madness, concrete beats and solid structures as we should expect from this two veterans. four solid cuts of no joke modern techno made by those who know for those who know.

the double drop label present the second of three parts from the invisible cities collective, made up of luca c & brigante plus guests. following the summers moments in between (featuring ivan smagghe remixes), in my garden finds the guys carving a sumptuous slo-mo house groove, with a rather special secret collaborator on vocal duties. the result is something lush and unique. the original is backed with a fine interpretation from the mole, and the super cool edge of our love completes the package. the new music from invisible cities doesnt stop there. next up is part 3, sunkissed with remixes from apiento and special dubs from mad professor.

for our 9th instalment, holdie gawn takes the lead and is delivering his first solo ep for sylphe, while micawber takes a break. on the a-side, holdie gawns natural habitat, we find yborg, a 12 minute long piece of darker, glitched-up techno which moves slowly yet forcefully. expanding into a terrain of bleeps and dissonant harmonies, ‘’yborg’’ number remains loyal to the twisted sylphe electronics we have been used to. on the b side we have t & t, a rolling, broken beat swingy techno-house jam which grooves effortlessly and shows a different of holdie. wonky, bubbling basslines and stretched voices complete the mosaic of holdie’s the first b side. our 9th release will be out in time for our 3rd birthday, around mid-late february

new york haunted have invited some of our own favorite artists to explore the boundaries of techno as a form of communication. straight from detroit, the legendary terrence dixon represents the minimalist funk like no other in his contribution star dust. straightforward dance floor action with a truly hypnotic vibe. former yellow swan, pete swanson comes from a noise background and has been adding monolithic rhythms for some years now, his dirty work blurs these lines and shifts between harsh noise and distorted machine rhythms. cryptic techno philosopher jamal moss, aka hieroglyphic being drops an exercise in sun ra worship called speaking in tongues and label boss drvg cvltvre rounds of the ep with a combination of shortwave radio transmissions and walls of gutwrenching bass drums. often imitated, never duplicated. these are the unique voices of a techno generation.

lady blacktronika shows two totally different sides to her character with her return to bass culture via a potent ep full of deliciously dark, bass-heavy productions placed side by side with more soulful explorations of the house sound. following the ‘all in vain’ ep, which landed earlier this year, lady blacktronika comes correct once again with a collection of four of the finest quality cuts. our introduction to the ep is a thorough dip in the deep end of tech house, with the marauding ‘it rains’. full of darkness, the venomous track stomps along with a powerful, darkside bassline and razor-sharp percussion. high-pitched keys add to the malevolent flavour of this raw cut. after that, we get a more measured, yet mysterious and unsettling slice of minimal funk. ‘no good’ is a hypnotic trip inside lady blacktronika’s murky world with snarling synth lines, clever percussion, eerie fx and a naughty little b-line. on the flip we have retro-inspired ‘call my name’, with a very old school feel as the 808 gets a proper workout in tandem with a familiar female spoken-word vocal layered over the top. this is bound to send the dance floor into uproar with its killer vocal sample. finally ‘set out your luv’ gives the ep a heady ending, light airy pads are placed alongside a grooving bassline, soulful vocals, diamond-cut beats and squelchy effects to create a lush, dreamy soundscape which will get those hips moving….
